Seattle Police have reported three arrests in separate homicide cases over the weekend, one of which involved a chilling incident in Belltown. The victim was shot in the head and then subjected to further brutality as the alleged shooter yelled, “the b—– still breathing.”
On March 3, officers responded to a call at 2510 Western Ave. for reports of a disturbance involving two women and possible gunfire. Upon arrival, they encountered 33-year-old Rickesha Overton, observed with a handgun in hand, its slide indicating it was empty.
Overton complied with police orders to drop the weapon, but not before making a statement suggesting self-defense. The victim, 20-year-old Alicia Decoteau, was discovered deceased nearby, just outside the apartment building where the altercation occurred.
Court documents reveal disturbing details captured by surveillance footage. Overton is seen trailing Decoteau down a staircase, brandishing a pistol. After shoving Decoteau to the ground, Overton fired two shots, one to the torso and another to the back of the head, fatally wounding her.
As Decoteau lay motionless, Overton callously kicked her several times, stating, “you dead, b—-, you dead,” and remarking on her continued breathing. Witnesses, filming the scene, were threatened by Overton with further violence.

Investigations indicate a turbulent relationship between Overton, Decoteau, and Overton’s boyfriend, who witnessed the fatal confrontation. Overton’s jealousy and rage, fueled by a discovery of infidelity earlier that day, led to this senseless loss of life.
