Gamer Shikha Metray who was promoting child sex abuse on her YouTube channel “Kuwari Begum” was arrested by Ghaziabad Police on 13th June. She was however, later granted bail. She had made all her social media accounts private before the action and also deleted many of her videos. Her account is disabled now. She either deleted her channel or changed the privacy settings. Police will send her mobile and laptop to lab for forensic test.
“Case registered on the basis of complaint received at Kaushambi police station. She has been arrested. Further proceedings are on,” said Assistant Police Commissioner Ritesh Tripathi.
Shikha Metray is 23 years old and resident of Indergarhi, Ghaziabad. She completed her fashion design course from Delhi’s National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in 2021-2022. After that she was working with an e-commerce company in Kalkaji. Her mother is an engineer in Gurugram and father is a teacher in Ghaziabad. Her younger sister is 12th class student. Shikha was working with Aditya Birla Company in Bengaluru. But she was running the “Kuwari Begum” YouTube channel for the past two years. She was posting content on pornography to increase her audience and told the authorities that she was a professional gamer.
FIR was filed against her on 12th June based on the complaint of activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj. She had approached the Police Commissionerate office and complained that her channel was promoting sexual crimes against minors and newborns. She filed a complaint against her under IT Act and POCSO Act at Kaushambi police station.
She specifically mentioned the video “She will say no. Let her” on Shikha Metray’s YouTube channel and alleged that she was promoting sexual aggression towards women and children and telling men to ignore women’s consent. She also said the content misguides young boys. Shikha Metray was arrested, produced in the court and then sent to jail. ACP Dinesh P Kumar had earlier said that two teams were sent to arrest Shikha Metray who had 2,050 subscribers and had published over 115 videos on her channel which had few hundred views.
A video posted by Shikha Metray asking her audience to sexually assault infants went viral on social media on 10th June. She said, “If I had a d*ck I would have made a tutorial on masturbation. I could have then shared tips on how to make masturbation feel good. I would have also told you why you should masturbate. Find an infant who doesn’t even have teeth. Ask the child’s mother to take the child somewhere and do something.” She further added, “I am not so sorry. If I had a d*ck, then, I would have tried it. Imagine children without teeth. Wow, it would be one heck of an experience.”
