JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna faces mounting scrutiny as a woman steps forward, alleging sexual assault and harassment not only against him but also implicating his father, HD Revanna. The distressing testimonies emerged as part of a widening investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Karnataka police.
According to the victim’s detailed account provided to the SIT, Prajwal Revanna stands accused of raping her mother at his Bengaluru residence approximately four to five years ago. The woman further disclosed a disturbing pattern of manipulation, asserting that Prajwal coerced her into answering video calls where he demanded she remove her clothes, threatening harm to her and her mother if she refused.
[adinserter name="Three"]The grim narrative continues as the victim alleges that Prajwal Revanna wielded his influence to intimidate her family, leading to her father’s dismissal from his job after they filed a police complaint against him. Moreover, she claims her mother endured sexual harassment from HD Revanna, further exacerbating their plight.
The victim also corroborates reports of Prajwal Revanna’s exploitation of female servants, stating that he sexually harassed them under the guise of offering fruits, while she maintains he raped her mother.
[adinserter name="Four"]Fleeing abroad amidst the escalating allegations, he is reported to be seeking refuge in Germany, leaving a vacuum of accountability in his wake. While his father, HD Revanna, faces judicial custody, the hunt for Prajwal intensifies, with central agencies issuing a Blue Corner notice to locate the JD(S) leader.
In response, the Karnataka Police SIT has launched a helpline, urging victims to come forward and register their complaints, signaling a concerted effort to address the pervasive issue of sexual misconduct and hold perpetrators accountable.
[adinserter name="Five"]Prajwal once again vied for the Lok Sabha seat from the Hassan constituency in the 2024 general election. However, on the day of voting, his polling agent lodged a complaint with the police, alleging widespread circulation of doctored photos and videos aimed at dissuading voters from supporting Prajwal.
It was reported that prior to the polling day, approximately 3000 sex videos, purportedly filmed by Prajwal himself and involving over 1000 women, had been disseminated across the constituency.
[adinserter name="Six"]Amidst escalating media scrutiny surrounding the alleged sexual misconduct, the Government of Karnataka took action on April 27th by establishing a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the accusations. Concurrently, the Karnataka State Commission for Women revealed that it had documented instances of women being coerced and filmed without their consent.
Reports also emerged of pen drives containing these incriminating videos being widely distributed, including in public areas such as parks, bus stops, and a stadium in Hassan.
[adinserter name="Seven"]The following day, Prajwal’s abrupt departure from the country for Germany, facilitated by his diplomatic passport which does not require a visa, raised further questions. Although his family and party members asserted that the trip had been pre-planned, it was revealed that he had not obtained the necessary clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs before embarking on his journey.
Consequently, on April 30th, Prajwal was suspended by his party pending the completion of the SIT probe.
[adinserter name="Eight"]Despite efforts to evade authorities, Prajwal remained elusive, prompting the SIT to enlist the assistance of Interpol in locating him. A blue corner notice was subsequently issued on May 5th, intensifying the global search for the embattled politician.
