A group of men allegedly gang-raped a Spanish woman who was touring with her husband in Jharkhand’s Dumka district on Friday night, according to the police.
The incident occurred in Kurumahat village, Hansdiha police station, about 42km from Dumka district headquarters. The perpetrators assaulted the Spanish woman, who was sleeping in a makeshift tent with her husband, at a deserted location.
[adinserter name="Seven"]Around 10pm, the police patrolling unit discovered the Spanish couple and took them to a nearby community health center for medical treatment. The victims, traveling from Bengal to Nepal via Dumka and Bihar, had set up their tent at Kurumahat for an overnight stay.
[adinserter name="Six"]Dumka SP Pitamber Singh Kherwar revealed that the district administration will notify the Union Ministry of Home Affairs about the arrival of foreign nationals. This measure aims to enhance security for overseas tourists and prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

He stated that communication would be sent to the Union Home Ministry to alert district or state administration about visits by foreign nationals.

The 28-year-old woman suffered gang rape, while the 64-year-old man sustained external injuries. Both are reported to be stable.
