Vidisha: A 35-year-old man hailing from Madhya Pradesh diligently acquired printing techniques as a vocational skill during his time in jail, only to employ them in the production of counterfeit currency after his release, as per an official’s statement on Sunday.
The return of Bhupendra Singh Dhakat to criminal activities surfaced following his arrest on Saturday, during which the police seized 95 fake notes, each bearing a denomination of Rs 200, revealed the official.

Dhakat has admitted to manufacturing and circulating the forged notes within the district over the past few months.

While serving his last sentence in the district, Dhakat acquired printing skills as part of a vocational training initiative aimed at aiding inmates’ reintegration into society upon release.
Regrettably, Dhakat chose to exploit his newfound expertise for illicit monetary gain.

Vidisha Jail superintendent, Priyadarshan Shrivastava, noted that inmates are provided with training in offset printing and screen printing to facilitate their livelihood opportunities post-release.
