A video from Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh has gone viral on social media, showing a barber named Amjad using spit during a face massage on a young man. The incident occurred in the Thana Bhawan police station area. Following the video’s release, the police promptly registered a case and arrested Amjad within six hours. The video has sparked widespread outrage and raised questions among social media users.
In the viral video, Amjad is seen giving a face massage to a young man, intermittently spitting on the man’s face during the massage. As soon as the video surfaced, Shamli’s Superintendent of Police (SP), Abhishek, instructed Thana Bhawan Station House Officer (SHO) Satish Kumar to investigate and take legal action. Acting swiftly, the police apprehended Amjad, the son of Irfan, who runs a salon at the village bus stand in Bhanehra Udadda.
The police confirmed that the person spreading the video identified the barber as Amjad. Upon investigation, it was found that Amjad is a resident of Bhanehra village and operates a salon at the local bus stand. The incident has led to public outrage, with local residents filing complaints with the Shamli police. They have demanded stringent action against individuals with such malicious intentions to prevent similar incidents in the future. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Santosh Kumar Singh assured the public of strict action.
This incident follows a series of similar cases. Three years ago, a video from Shamli’s Fountain Chowk area showed a man spitting on tandoori bread before baking it. The accused was arrested at that time. Similarly, a video from Loni in Ghaziabad showed a Muslim youth spitting on tandoori bread before packing it, leading to his arrest as well.
The recent incident has reignited concerns and debates on social media, with many users expressing their anger and calling for severe penalties to deter such behavior.
