Woodland, California – According to Woodland police, a tragic incident occurred when a 3-year-old child managed to escape from a car seat and inadvertently put a pickup truck into gear, resulting in the vehicle moving forward and striking a 2-year-old, leading to her instant demise.
Family members have identified the victim as Ailahni Sanchez Martinez, as reported by KCRA Channel 3. Ailahni was transported to a hospital following the collision but succumbed to her injuries, as confirmed by the police.

The owner of the truck was inside the store while the vehicle was parked at the gas pump. The 3-year-old child was situated in the backseat of the truck in a car seat, according to the police.
The truck began moving forward, ultimately striking the young girl, who was near a taco stand located on the edge of the gas station’s parking lot.

The girl’s parents were in the process of setting up the taco stand when their daughter was tragically hit, according to the same report.
“We seek justice,” asserted the girl’s father, Sandro Sanchez. “I lost my daughter because of someone else.”
