According to court documents, parents in Utah have admitted to raping their 15-year-old daughter for more than a year because they believed it to be “safer” for her than “having sex with strangers.”
According to the affidavit, the unidentified couple was arrested on Thursday in Provo, Utah, approximately forty minutes outside of Salt Lake City. The police were called by the alleged victim, who claimed that her step-father had been raping her “for the last year and a half.”

According to online jail records that People looked through, the mother and stepfather, who told police that he’s known the teenager “since the day she was born,” have been charged with object rape, forcible sexual abuse, and forced sodomy.

According to jail records, the stepfather is facing an additional charge of rape, and both adults are being held without access to bond.

According to court records, the girl’s mother and stepfather claimed to have discovered images of her “in sexual situations” in online chats.
[adinserter name="Five"]According to arrest documents, the stepfather allegedly admitted to investigators that he and the girl’s mother bought the 15-year-old sex toys and went to the shower with her.

According to the affidavit, when she confronted her spouse about it, he “denied it at the time.”

Per the authorities, the couple’s’substantial risk’ is the reason they are being detained. It’s unclear if the couple opted for a plea bargain or retained legal counsel to protect them.
