Starmer recently unveiled a blueprint designed to confront the escalating migrant Channel crossings crisis. One of the key elements of this strategy is the proposition of an EU-wide returns agreement. Under such an agreement, the UK would agree to accept a portion of asylum seekers arriving in Europe in exchange for the European Union taking responsibility for migrants who have arrived illegally in the UK after crossing the English Channel.
Taking to Twitter, Braverman voiced her concerns, stating, “Finally, we see Sir Keir Starmer’s migration plan. He’ll let Brussels decide who comes to the UK. He’ll agree to make Britain the dumping ground for many of the millions of illegal migrants that Europe doesn’t want. And none of this will stop the boats.”
Braverman’s comments were met with a swift response from Starmer, who dismissed her criticisms while speaking to reporters during a visit to Europol in The Hague, Netherlands.
