Tragic Accident Turns into Gift of Life as Cab Driver’s Organs Save Five Patients

Bengaluru, Karnataka, October 2, 2023: In a heartwarming and selfless act, Madhan Kumar SV, a 22-year-old cab driver hailing from Somasagara in Nelamangala taluk, Karnataka, has posthumously saved the lives of five individuals through organ donation. Tragically, Madhan’s life was cut short due to a severe accident that occurred on September 24 in Dabaspet. After being declared brain dead three days later, his grieving family made the courageous decision to donate his organs, providing a new lease on life for others in need.
Madhan Kumar, who was on his way home after a long day of work when the accident transpired, was swiftly rushed to V-care Hospital. However, despite the frantic efforts of medical professionals to save his life, his injuries proved insurmountable. He was subsequently transferred to Siddaganga Hospital in Tumakuru and later to SPARSH Hospital in Yeshwantpur, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Madhan Kumar’s parents, Vijay Kumar SV and Laxmi Devi, primarily engage in cattle farming. When the topic of organ donation arose within the family, a unanimous consensus was reached. Manjunath SV, Madhan’s brother, expressed, “In the face of our tragic loss, we found solace in the opportunity to give life to others. Recognizing the pressing need for organ donors, we were determined to contribute in any way we could.”
This inspiring story serves as a testament to the power of selflessness and the indomitable human spirit. Madhan Kumar’s legacy lives on through the five individuals who have been granted a second chance at life, thanks to his family’s compassionate decision to donate his organs.
