Washington, D.C. – October 10, 2023 – The White House is considering a groundbreaking approach to bolster support for Ukraine by merging its plea for assistance with Israel’s urgent aid request. According to sources cited by The Washington Post, this innovative tactic aims to navigate the complex political landscape of Capitol Hill and increase the likelihood of receiving the much-needed financial support for Ukraine.

The idea is to bundle the financial aid requests for Ukraine and Israel into a single package and seek approval from Congress. By doing so, the Biden Administration hopes to overcome the challenges posed by insufficient support from Republicans and the absence of a Speaker of the House.

One official stated that this approach could strategically neutralize opposition from the far-right in Congress, which has been reluctant to approve additional aid for Ukraine but is supportive of aid to Israel. By combining the two requests, the administration aims to ensure that Congress approves funding for Ukraine, as lawmakers would be hesitant to block military aid to Israel.

However, it’s important to note that no final decisions regarding the joint funding package have been made at this point, and the strategy remains under discussion.
